Middle School BASKETBALL 2016
This past weekend, Concordia hosted the HAC Middle School Basketball Festival - the first large-scale sporting event held on our campus since relocating to Van Tri! A big thanks to everyone who took the opportunity to participate...
After the festival wrapped up, we also hosted a High School Basketball Clinic (opened to our grade 8 players to participate in) to kick off Season 2 in High School sports. A huge thanks to Coach Bill Casson and Mr. Sherwood for organizing and leading over 30 Concordia students through this 3-hour session.
- Student-athletes from British International School, British Vietnamese International School, Concordia International School Hanoi, Olympia International School, Saint Paul American School, Wellspring International Bilingual School, United Nations International School
- Coaches from the aforementioned schools - but a HUGE shout-out to our ver own Teresa, Lia, Micah, and Mike. Their dedication to the students and love for the game cannot go unnoticed. Our students had the experience they did this season thanks to these fine mentors.
- Our incredible referees - both hired and volunteers (Coach Garcia, Mr. Sherwood, Coach Buss and Coach Mills)
- Student scorekeepers (Miles, Sean, Dan, Shaina, Alex, and Lexe) interested in learning more about the game through the art of keeping accurate time and score
- Donkey Bakery for providing a healthy range of snacks for a concession stand
- Our amazing nurse staff - Mrs.Ritzema and Mrs. Miller - for nursing our few minor injuries back to health
- Our talented local staff - including Mrs. Huong for helping to organize gym setup, Ms. Lucy for arranging referees and payments, and Ms. Tra for tackling a complicated bus schedule that included getting the girls team to campus by 8:30am, boys team to campus by 12:30pm, and high schoolers to campus by 4:00pm.
- Our parent community that was able to come cheer on their daughter/sons in a wrap up of season play
- Our faculty that made their way out to cheer on team Thunder

All students who attend this Jamboree can expect to receive equal playtime as their teammates throughout the day!
If your son/daughter plans to attend the Jamboree, please add student-athlete name and day-of phone contact on THIS LIST by Thursday, September 22, so that Ms. Sokola is able to ensure the safe arrival and departure of all students, as well as the coaches are able to prepare teams and strategies! **
